The Sierra Madre fires began buring the foothills on Saturday April 26.
I was on my way home from Pasadena and was so drawn to the glow in the sky that I just had to make my way up the hill. It was eerily beautiful and enticing. I made it as far as I could past the barriers, but with the heightened police presence this was as close as I could get.
Only in California can you capture a silhouette of palm trees swaying in the night with rolling flames as their backdrop
